The film "Mi Promesa" was produced to not only entertain audiences, but start a discussion about a subject that is not often addressed in the Latino population.

Suicide is the third leading cause of death for Hispanic Americans aged 15 to 24, the third leading cause of death for those aged 25-34 and the 13th leading cause of death for Hispanics of all ages.

Unfortunately, these numbers are rarely reported and many are not aware of how serious the problem really is.

If this film can at least get people talking and even inspire one person to reach out for help, then it is a success.
